Case Study: Heat Coil Repair of Dubai Brilliance: Singapore

Chase Resource (CR) completed a heating coil repair in Dubai Brilliance Vessel at the Singapore Port Anchorages (ASSPU). The customer wanted a complete cold-repair of the heating coils and hence no-hot work was allowed. The coils were 40A JIS SS316L. It was an ideal use case for CR’s non-welded piping fitting portfolio which involves no hot work.

CR executed the repair using PYPLOK® Fittings equipped with Inner EPDM-Outer Viton Seal which are specially meant for connecting and repairing Heating Coils. The inner EPDM O-ring seals the steam in the piping and the Outer Viton seals the fuel in the tank. PYPLOK® Long Couplings (DMXX301) specially designed for heating coils were used for repairs where a short length of piping had to be cut. This eliminates the need to use two standard length couplings to carry out the same repair.
