Potable water (water suitable for human use) is the most vital element for human beings and scarcity of the same in different parts of the world due to increasing population has become a serious problem. It is mainly because of high demand for water and diminishing freshwater resources. Desalination is the process of converting saltwater to potable water. Successful desalination machineries and piping require a material that can resist the various aggressive corrosion effects caused by seawater. Materials like stainless steel Type 316, Duplex & Super Duplex, Copper Nickel (Cu-Ni) are ideal piping material in such industries.
