Bi-Metallic Bi-Thermostatic Steam Traps
Balanced pressure steam traps, with independent seat and piston and an external drainage temperature and load adjustment device, which can be serviced without interrupting the steam circuit. Having independent valve and seat located in an area with reduced flow velocity reduces erosion of the components, thus increasing the steam trap's life. The condensate drainage is controlled by the two bimetallic thermostats which are continuously adjusting to the condensate loads.

Its working principle confers the steam trap automatic air venting capacity. Due to its design, the bimetallic bi-thermostatic steam trap can function in any position and is resistant to water hammers.

Replacement costs are enormously reduced due to the independent valve and seat. This altogether with the external adjustment device result in very low maintenance costs.

Intelligent Steam Traps
The use of Bitherm´s Intelligent products provides the means to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the maintenance costs as they monitor the steam network and focus the maintenance where it needs to be applied.
1. Intelligent Bi-Thermostatic Steam Trap
Intelligent Bithermostatic steam traps are the combination of Bi-Metallic Bithermostatic Steam Traps and Smart Watch Web Refinery Monitorization System.

SmartWatchWeb™ reaches its maximum performance when combined with Bitherm´s Bithermostatic Steam Traps and Trap Valve Stations. The installation of SWW10 on these valves is straight-forward as they have been designed to ease this coupling. When the valves are mounted together and the monitoring system is used we speak of Intelligent Valves.

The simplest of these couples is the Intelligent Steam Trap. The SWW10 is screwed in the screw hole of the Bithermostatic Steam Trap which greatly simplifies the installation process. Once installed the valve can be remotely monitored, retrieving data for temperature and ultrasounds and optionally pressure. This data can be used to determine the valve status (ok, leaking, cold, etc.) and if pressure sensors are used it can also provide information about operational problems in the return collector.

It performs the sensing and diagnosing of the following:
  1. Status of Operation.
  2. Presence of external or internal steam leaks.
  3. Energy Efficiency and reduced GHG emissions.
  4. Troubles on return controller.
2. Intelligent Bi-Thermostatic Trap Valve Stations
The Intelligent Trap Valve Station (iTVS) goes one step farther as its design allows to directly mount the pressure sensors without any modification to the valve. This feature makes it ideal for applications requiring pressure monitoring and reduces the installation and maintenance costs.
